Message from Manny

So as I reflect back on today all that flows through my head is that GOD IS AWESOME! On this whole trip The Lord has challenged me with small things that put me out of my comfort zone. The most prevalent to happen to me was VBS. Now if you know me I’m not normally a kid person so when I hear that VBS will be going on I automatically shut it out and prepare to be put to work elsewhere. Little did I know that God had a different plan. At the work sight we leveled the ground and if you know how taxing it can be working with clay, you probably know that it doesn’t leave you in a great mood. After all this I find out that we, the people already there, would be hosting the VBS. My first thought was simply “OH NO, I JUST CAN’T” but that feeling ended mighty quickly. It was only by the Grace of God that for the next two hours I was completely consumed by his love to just be there for the Dominican children before me. Before I knew what was even going on, I ended up helping the children with a craft and wanting to do so, speaking more Spanish than I ever thought I even knew, and even being in a puppet show to sing Spanish church songs for the kids. Never in my life have I felt a greater encompassing feeling of God working through me. So I feel what God is trying to teach me is that He truly is in control and if you let Him direct your paths you won’t go astray. I am so thankful to be loved so much that I don’t even realize I’m out of my comfort zone.

    Manny ~

I am so touched by your post. In fact, it moved me to tears. My absolute favorite line is “I am so thankful to be loved so much that I don’t even realize I’m out of my comfort zone.” I have been thinking about it since I read it. I cannot wait to hear more stories and see pictures upon your safe return to the US. We are SO proud of you & the team. You all remain in our prayers. God bless you for what you are doing for HIS Kingdom.

    Love,
    Renee Hays
